ISRAEL. The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) has released a key tender for the supply of Commercial Consulting Services at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport.
The commercial consulting contract will run for three years (with an option to extend for a further two).
The chosen company will assist in the forthcoming tender processes for a number of vital concessions at the Israeli gateway. Among the categories to be tendered in the months ahead (beginning in June) are fashion & accessories, watches, jewellery, confectionery, sporting goods, toys, souvenirs and food & beverage.
IAA told The Moodie Report: “The winner will consult for us regarding our upcoming tenders and render services such as counselling, advising and formulating the T3 commercial programme, gathering worldwide data regarding the tenders, and benchmarking and analysing T3 at Ben Gurion against other leading world airports.
“The winner will also provide counselling for the future liquor, tobacco and perfumes contract [operated by James Richardson -Ed], which expires at the end of 2014. IAA will use the assistance of the consultant for conducting and marketing the tender.
“We are also planning to build an international airport at Timna, near Eilat, and the new consulting company will advise us with the design of the public commercial areas at this location as well.”
Companies that want to bid should have experience of commercial planning and/or commercial marketing services at airports handling over 10 million passengers a year, said IAA.
The deadline for proposals is 31 May. Further details and documents are available at www.iaa.gov.il
