Jacobs acquires concession experts Leigh Fisher

US. Jacobs Engineering Group announced this week that a subsidiary company has agreed to acquire Leigh Fisher Associates, the airport consulting firm based near San Francisco.

In addition to enhancing Jacobs’ capabilities in the airport and aviation sector, the company said the acquisition provides synergies with the company’s transport consultancy capabilities in road, rail, shipping and airline operations.

Leigh Fisher Associates provides physical planning, financial planning, concession and business advisory services to more than 200 airports, mostly in the US. Past projects include: financing for the development of 33 Argentine airports; facility review for Auckland airport; Dallas/Fort Worth airport development plan update; Denver financial planning; the St Louis, Honolulu and Harrisburg airport master plans; rental car concession developments and airline negotiations.

In making the announcement, Jacobs executive vice president Tom Hammond said: “This strategic acquisition broadens the extensive range of services we provide to the airport and airline industries, which we expect will translate into increased value for both of our clients.”

Leigh Fisher Associates managing principal Nicholas Davidson said: “Joining Jacobs provides a great opportunity for us to augment their strengths and accelerate their growth plans. Access to the national and international resources of Jacobs provides an exciting force multiplier for us.”

Jacobs, with over 35,000 employees and annual revenues approaching US$5.0 billion, provides technical, professional and construction services globally.
