JB Hi-Fi debuts with Aelia Duty Free at Auckland and Christchurch airports

NEW ZEALAND. Aelia Duty Free has partnered with JB Hi-Fi to open tax free electronics stores at Auckland and Christchurch airports. It marks a debut for the well-known consumer technology retail brand at New Zealand airports.

JB HiFi stores are now open at Aelia Duty Free departures stores at both airports, with arrivals stores set to begin trading in September.

“This is the first time JB Hi-Fi has been available in a duty free setting in New Zealand. It’s a real win for international travellers,” said LagardèreAWPL CEO Przemyslaw Lesniak.

The new stores are staffed by JB Hi-Fi teams. The offer features many of the same products seen in other JB Hi-Fi stores.

JB Hi-Fi debuts at Auckland Airport; the consumer technology retailer runs over 300 stores across Australia and New Zealand

“JB Hi-Fi has one of the widest ranges of consumer electronics, at some of the best prices, across Australasia. We’re excited now to extend that offer, tax free, in New Zealand through this partnership with Aelia Duty Free,” said JB Hi-Fi New Zealand Managing Director Tim Edwards.

The partnership builds on other LagardèreAWPL activity in New Zealand this year.

“Recently, LagardèreAWPL partnered with Visa for a highly successful FIFA Women’s World Cup promotion. And we offered exclusives with global and local luxury brands, such as Burberry and Comvita,” said Lesniak.

In August, LagardèreAWPL also ran two career days, with hundreds of people expressing interest in working in Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown airports.

“It’s great to see the sector growing, and for LagardèreAWPL to be such an attractive employer. And the momentum continues. We have more brand partnerships coming soon – watch this space,” added Lesniak. ✈
