MACAU, CHINA. JCDecaux Macao, a joint venture between JCDecaux (80%) and HN Group (20%), has renewed its exclusive advertising contract with Macau International Airport for ten years, following an open tender.
The new term kicked in on 1 July, strengthening JCDecaux’s presence in the Special Administrative Region. The company also holds the Macau street furniture contract for a 15-year term and several airport concessions elsewhere in China, including nearby Hong Kong International Airport.
JCDecaux enjoys a strong presence in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay area, which it described as one of the world’s most dynamic regions with more than 86 million inhabitants.
The JCDecaux Macao partnership has managed the Macau International Airport advertising concession since 2003. As part of the new contract, the company will set up a digitalisation programme with the deployment of innovative technologies and an array of creative solutions designed to improve services and the consumer experience while enhancing advertising revenue.
The growth of advertising at the airport will be driven by digitalisation, JCDecaux Macao said, a programme that will take into account environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues while maximising results for advertisers.
JCDecaux Chairman of the Management Board and Co-Chief Executive Officer Jean-Charles Decaux said: “Partners for 21 years already, we are delighted to have been chosen again by Macau International Airport Company Limited [CAM].
“This contract is new recognition of JCDecaux’s expertise and its ability to provide innovative solutions and quality to advertisers. Our commitment to excellence and providing a world-class service is at the heart of our long-lasting relationship, and we are proud that this has been recognised by CAM.
“We would like to thank CAM for its continued confidence as we strive to deliver products and innovative advertising services to transform the environment airport and improve the passenger experience.
“This will create a powerful platform for advertisers and their brands, driving growth and innovation over the next decade and beyond.” ✈
