Kering Eyewear and Safilo renew Gucci manufacture and supply contract

Kering Eyewear and Safilo have renewed their agreement for the manufacturing and supply of Gucci branded products.

The current contract runs until December 2020. The new three-year agreement will come into effect in January 2021.

The Italian connection: Eyewear from luxury fashion brand Gucci will continue to be made by Safilo and distributed by Kering

Safilo Group is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacturing and distribution of sunglasses, optical frames, sports eyewear and products. Its portfolio includes own brands such as Carrera and Polaroid and licensed brands including Dior, Jimmy Choo, Pierre Cardin and Tommy Hilfiger.

Kering cited Safilo’s “top-tier service, unparalleled product quality and unique craftsmanship capabilities”, as the key factors in renewing the agreement.

It also pointed to the pair’s common social responsibility role; the two companies share a vision to work to preserve Italy’s eyewear manufacturing district.

Kering Eyewear designs, develops and distributes eyewear for a portfolio of brands which also includes Cartier, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Alaïa, Courrèges, Montblanc, Brioni, Boucheron, Pomellato, McQ and Puma.
