Kering Eyewear marks travel-retail launch of Maui Jim foldable style with Moodie Davitt makeover

Maui Jim is introducing a range of foldable sunglasses specially designed for the travel retail channel. Set to launch in October, the frames will be available in selected leading travel retail doors worldwide.

To mark the launch Kering Eyewear has partnered with The Moodie Davitt Report for a striking brand makeover of our desktop homepage and a vibrantly curated treatment of our mobile website.

The Maui Jim foldable travel-exclusive style to be introduced from October

The Lelepau design features lightweight and comfortable SuperThin Glass lenses, which grant clarity and scratch resistance. Featuring a unisex squared shape, the sunglasses reduce to their minimum size by hinging on the temples, endpieces, and bridge – and can be safely placed in a dedicated flat case, for an easy-to-carry look and feel.

Available in both matte and shiny finishes in black or Havana, the Lelepau range features a wide and colourful palette of bi-gradient and mirrored polarised lenses, recalling the brand’s Hawaiian roots.

The collection offers functionality and sports inflection, with rubber nose pads for a secure fit and Slash detail on the temple tips, which recalls the dynamic graphic and DNA of the Maui Jim logo.

As part of the brand’s channel-oriented strategy developed for international travellers, customers will also encounter retailtainment experiences with surf simulators or polage screens enjoyable only through Maui Jim lenses, as well as gifts upon purchase.

The exclusive product launch will be complemented by on-model visuals starring Maui Jim brand ambassadors, as well as still-life images and a video to explain the foldable mechanism. ✈
