Kiehl’s has created a unisex, FAA-compliant collection called Travel-Tested Solutions. The products have been designed to infuse skin with essential moisture and nutrients during and after travel. The line will be available exclusively at Kiehl’s airport shops, downtown duty-free shops and onboard certain airlines from May.
Travel is well-known for its unwelcome effects on the skin, which include dehydration and sensitivity. Such problems begin in transit but can last for days afterwards, according to Kiehl’s.

“Preventing hydration loss during a flight is only half of the battle,” cautioned Vice President Education and Customer Relations Cammie Canella. “Just as jet lag must be tended to for days following travel, travellers should actively nurture aggravated skin two-four days post-travel, to restore their skin’s natural balance.”
Moreover, extended exposure to confined environments such as trains and planes often leaves passengers feeling the psychological and physiological effects on their skin, the brand maintains. To combat this, Kiehl’s Travel-Tested formulas feature calming, soothing and anti-microbial properties.
To counter the drying effects of low humidity, low air pressure and recycled air, Kiehl’s Travel-Tested Solutions products contain Cactus Flower Extract, known for its hydrating properties, and Tibetan Ginseng – a mountain plant known to increase skin-cell respiration at high altitudes. Other key ingredients include a skin-purifying blend of essential oils (lavender, geranium and rosemary).
To further ensure efficacy, all four products within the collection have been tested inflight by pilots and crew members of Air China, Air Hainan, China Eastern and China Southern.
Each product within the collection is available for individual purchase, or as a travel set, which includes a complementary limited-edition luggage tag.
The Kiehl’s Travel-Tested Solutions range comprises an In-Flight Refreshing Facial Mist, a 24/7 Activated Moisturizer, a First Class Purifying Hand Treatment and a Eucalyptus Lip Relief Class.
The cooling, reviving facial mist is said to help purify and hydrate skin irritated by inflight cabin conditions, while the lightweight moisturiser helps to shield skin from inflight dryness and dullness.
The cream-gel hand treatment helps to protect from impurities commonly encountered during travel, leaving hands soft, smooth and clean. Lastly, the shine-free lip treatment is claimed to soothe parched lips, thanks to its cooling and protective properties.
