UAE. Swiss chocolate brand Kägi, which is exclusively distributed by Kreol Travel Retail, has made its Middle East channel debut at the newly named Zayed International Airport in partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail.
Kreol said the move is part of its continued commitment to introducing diverse, high-quality products to travellers in the region.
Kreol Group CEO Lal Arakulath said: “As the exclusive distributor of Kägi confectionery, Kreol Travel Retail is thrilled to announce the Middle Eastern debut of Kägi at the newly opened duty free in Zayed International Airport, operated by Lagardère Travel Retail.”
Established in 1934 by Otto Kägi, Sr., Kägi Söhne began its own chocolate production from raw cocoa beans in 1960. The confectioner is widely known for its chocolate-covered wafers which are available in various flavours, as well as their pralines and cookies.
Lagardère Travel Retail UAE CEO Vadim Motlik said: “Lagardère Travel Retail looks forward to a successful partnership with Kreol Travel Retail and is confident that Kägi Swiss confectionery will be well-received by our customers.” ✈
*Note: Lagardère Travel Retail operates at Zayed International through its joint venture Lagardère Capital with Abu Dhabi Capital Group. The alliance has opened 18 outlets at the new Abu Dhabi gateway, including 12 duty free and six F&B units. An additional retail unit and one more restaurant are due to open in mid-2024 when the US pre-clearance facility of the terminal will open to the public.
