SINGAPORE. KrisShop has launched Batik Label by KrisShop, a concept store curated to celebrate and showcase the omnichannel retailer’s strong local heritage.
The store features an array of exclusive collaborations, highlighted by the embellishment of the Singapore Airlines batik across all products.
This contemporary iteration of the classic motif is inspired by flowers native to Singapore, and offers a nod to the Singapore Girl’s signature sarong kebaya uniform.
Batik Label by KrisShop opens with a curated selection of partner brands and is set to grow its collection in the coming months, the retailer said. This latest addition to an extensive suite of concept stores features an exclusive range of products spanning categories from home and living accessories to alcohol.
“From our early beginnings as the inflight duty free shop of Singapore Airlines to our evolution as an omnichannel retailer today, KrisShop has always prided itself on being a uniquely Singapore brand,” said KrisShop Chief Executive Officer Chris Pok.
“This concept store is an opportunity to shine the spotlight on our partners and the unrivalled quality of their crafts, with a sophisticated touch through batik-inspired designs. Standing in solidarity with national efforts to champion our culture in this time, we hope to give Singaporeans more reasons to celebrate our heritage as they use and enjoy these timeless pieces with a modern twist.”
KrisShop, which started out as the inflight duty free shop of Singapore Airlines, has since evolved beyond the inflight catalogue with a flagship ecommerce and lifestyle portal. It was relaunched in 2019 following the striking of a joint venture between Singapore Airlines, ground handler SATS, and duty free retailer 3Sixty (previously DFASS Group) in November 2018.
