FRANCE. Travel retail newcomer Kusmi Tea has bagged a listing at the Galeries Lafayette Gourmet tax free outlet in Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

France’s Galeries Lafayette Group already carries the trendy tea brand in its department stores at Angers, Dijon, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Perpignan, Reims, Saint Laurent du Var, Strasbourg and Toulouse. In the UK, the brand is found at Harrods, from August to December 2005.

This Autumn, Kusmi Tea offers five new products, described by the supplier as “appealing to all of the senses”. The range will be shown at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes later this month (Stand: Riviera Village RA2). The items are:

Rooibos Red African Tea: Described as a cutting-edge wellness beverage, Kusmi Tea has selected the best Rooibos tea from South Africa. Since Rooibos is caffeine free, it can be enjoyed day and evening. It is also additive free, preservative free, colourant free and low in tannin. Boasting soothing properties, it is also rich in anti-oxidants and contains calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, fluoride and iron.

Kusmi Organic Green Rooibos: Unfermented, the tea contains all benefits of regular Rooibos yet is said to enjoy the highest concentration of anti-oxidants of all teas.

Green Assam: Kusmi Tea has selected a rare single-estate premium green tea from the Assam region of India which is said to offer a fruity taste and a round character, with a subtle pungency and long finish. The green leaves produce a honey-coloured infusion and give a crude and fruity beverage.

Decaffeinated Ceylon: A traditional full-bodied black tea from Sri Lanka known for its dark chestnut colour. The strong decaffeinated tea can be enjoyed with a slice of lemon or milk.

Decaffeinated Earl Grey with citrus fruits: Dubbed a harmonious perfume of a black tea wrapped with citrus fruits, the product has a balanced taste of a delicate flavoured black China tea with a generous dose of bergamot and citrus fruit aromas from Grasse in the South of France.

All products are available in 125g (4.4oz), 250g (8.8oz) and 20 muslin teabags boxes.
