L Capital buys stake in Mariella Burani subsidiary

ITALY. Fashion group Mariella Burani has sold a 30% stake in its luxury leathergoods subsidiary to L Capital, an LVMH-controlled fund, for €25 million (US$27 million).

Formed two years ago, Antichi Pellettieri comprises seven companies that manufacture and distribute leathergoods and accessories under branded names such as Baldinini, Braccialiani and Cerruti.

It has not been confirmed whether Antichi will produce leathergoods for the LVMH group. But the deal is expected to provide significant manufacturing and distribution synergies.
