La Pausa de Chanel limited-edition makeup line revealed

A tribute to the French Riviera: The line was inspired by Coco Chanel’s La Pausa Villa on the ridge of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin

French luxury house Chanel has unveiled its spring-summer 2022 makeup line, La Pausa de Chanel. The limited-edition collection was launched in select travel retail locations on 21 January.

La Pausa de Chanel was inspired by Founder Coco Chanel’s villa in the ridge of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin in the French Riviera. La Pausa was the name of her holiday home, where she relaxed away from the hustle and bustle of Paris.

Chanel’s Makeup Creation Studio was inspired by the natural, earthy colours of the villa and the sunshine of the French Riviera.

The collection’s sunbeam motif, which has been embossed on the powder products, serves as a graphic representation of the Mediterranean.

La Pausa de Chanel comprises the new Rouge Coco Baume lip balm line, the Les 4 Ombres Méditerranéen Eyeshadow palette, two Blush Lumières, Ombre Première Lacque Lumière liquid eyeshadow, Baume Essentiel Ensoleillé and two new Le Vernis nail polishes.

The hero product of the line is the new Rouge Coco Baume which was designed in the same style as the Rogue Coco line with a minimalist white packaging.

The formula for Rouge Coco Baume combines rich lipstick colour with the moisturising benefits of a balm. It has been infused with Shea Butter and a Hydra Boost Complex which contains three plant waxes. Rouge Coco Baume is available in seven shades: Dreamy White, Pearlescent, Natural Charm, Flirty Coral, My Rose, Passion Pink, Fall for Me, and In Love.
