La Prairie steps up its ageing Intervention collection – 11/07/06

La Prairie’s new Intervention products: the Anti-Aging Emulsion SPF30 and Anti-Aging Eye Cream SPF15

SWITZERLAND. Luxury cosmetics brand La Prairie is poised to follow-up the launch of its Anti-Aging Complex Cellular Intervention Cream (The Moodie Report.com, 6 March) with the introduction at the end of August of two new items: Anti-Aging Emulsion SPF30 and Anti-Aging Eye Cream SPF15.

According to La Prairie, these so-called ‘intervention’ creams act at the cellular level to combat chronic silent inflammation, a primary cause of premature ageing. The inflammation is triggered by external aggressors such as environmental pollution and sun exposure.

The two new products incorporate the same biotechnology as the Anti-Aging Complex, with the additional benefit of sun protection.

The Anti-Aging Emulsion SPF30 is said to protect and plump the skin, helping to repair and rehabilitate. It should be used daily after cleansing and toning, either alone or over any Swiss Cellular De-Ager or Anti-Aging Complex.

It is presented in a shiny silver pump dispenser, highlighted with white graphics. The recommended domestic price is €158 for 50ml.

The Anti-Aging Eye Cream SPF15 is said to act at every stage of ageing to prevent damage to, repair and maintain the delicate skin around the eyes. It also addresses the problem of redness, dryness, dehydration and loss of firming, according to La Prairie.

It is presented in a shiny silver jar with white graphics. It is priced domestically at €122 for 15ml.

La Prairie’s new two-part treatment: the Cellular Nurturing Complex Anti-Redness

In other news, La Prairie will launch in September a Cellular Nurturing System, to counter the problem of “stressed” skin. The terms covers a broad range of conditions, from skin recovering from surgical and non-surgical procedures (e.g. facelifts and chemical peels), to skin troubled by hormonal imbalances, adverse environmental conditions and sun exposure.

La Prairie Cellular Nurturing Complex Anti-Redness is a two-part treatment, comprising a fast-penetrating, super-hydrating serum (50ml) to be applied over the entire face, plus a rich, emollient balm (6g) to be used as an intensive spot-treatment for the most seriously-stressed areas of the skin.

Both are formulated with a number of potent botanicals, such as Prunella Vulgaris Extract – commonly referred to as a ‘self heal’ herb – and La Prairie’s exclusive Cellular Complex, said to help stimulate the skin’s natural repair mechanism.

Innovatively, the two products are packaged together: the serum in a frosted jar; the balm in a special compartment concealed in the silver cap.

La Prairie Cellular Nurturing Complex Anti-Redness Serum and Balm will be available from the end of September, priced domestically at €224.

Complementing these items is La Prairie Cellular Nurturing Cream Anti-Redness, which can be used in conjunction with the serum and balm, or alone to counteract the dryness and redness of irritated or sensitive skin.

It too will be launched in September, retailing at €178 for 50ml.
