Lacoste-Movado partnership bears fruit at Cannes – 16/10/07

FRANCE. Premier watchmaker Movado Group Inc will showcase the Fall/Winter 2007 watch collection from French fashion house Lacoste at the TFWA World Exhibition later this month.

The new collection is the first to be borne out of the partnership between Movado Group and Lacoste, both of which signed a licensing agreement in March 2006.

Lacoste Fall/Winter 2007 watches are said to draw inspiration from the sports heritage of the brand, especially its tennis, golf and yachting roots. The watches have been updated with fresh graphics, colours and band treatments.

Lacoste Match Point Chrono for men

LACOSTE FALL/WINTER 2007 FOR MEN

The men’s collection will feature three new watches: Mainsail, Match Point and Match Point Chrono.

Inspired by the world of yachting, Mainsail features a silver sunray finish dial with luminescent applied markers and a green crocodile logo. It has steel and luminescent tipped hands, three-hand date, and a steel crown with steel-etched crocodile.

The signature striped strap is fashioned from green and white jacquard grosgrain with white leather keepers. The watch is also water-resistant to 50m (165ft or 5atm).

Designed to take wearers from the club room to the boardroom, Match Point has a stainless steel case with four-screw attachments at the lugs. The bezel features an etched Lacoste logo under a curved mineral crystal. The black dial has a sweep subdial with applied luminescent markers; the black hands are also luminescent coated with a red sub-sweep second hand.

The watch has a two-hand sub-sweep second movement and a PVD-coated crown with steel crocodile logo and black enamel fill. It is water-resistant to 50m (165ft or 5atm). The sporty black perforated rubber strap is on a deployment buckle with safety catch.

The Match Point Chrono version has flush red and black hard rubber chronograph pushers and a PVD coated crown with green crocodile logo and white enamel fill. It also has a directional green perforated rubber strap.

LACOSTE FALL/WINTER 2007 FOR WOMEN

The women’s collection will feature three new watches: Slice, Swing and Swing Patent.

Slice is a thin ID women’s watch with a polished stainless steel curved case and engraved crocodile. The movement is two-hand, while the steel crown has an etched crocodile logo. Like the men’s Mainsail, it has a jacquard woven strap with matching keepers in either pink rose and white or green and white. The dial is steel with metallic markers and hands that match the contrast colour on the strap.

Swing is a square-faced sportswear watch with stainless steel case and white enamel bezel. The dial is metallic white with red accent border and a green crocodile logo. It has stainless steel hands and a two-hand movement. The steel crown has white enamel fill and a green crocodile logo. The steel bracelet features white enamel inlayed links and push-button deployment.

Swing Patent has a black or red enamel bezel with matching accent border on the metallic white dial. This watch features a patent leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching to complement the black or red colour of the enamel bezel and accent border on the dial. Enamel and patent versions of Swing are available.

Lacoste Advantage with diamonds

LACOSTE FALL/WINTER 2007 UNISEX MODELS

The new collection also features three models suitable for both men and women: Court, Court Enamel, and Advantage.

Court is a unisex sportswear watch with a tank white/green/white plastic sandwich case with a porthole opening and steel caseback. It has a white painted steel double layer dial with perforated markers, and steel cut-out hands with green sweep second.

The movement is three-hand, and the steel crown has white enamel fill and a green crocodile logo. It has a debossed Lacoste logo on the white leather spectator strap with green leather edging. The white/red/white version replaces the green on the sandwich case, sweep second and strap.

The Court Enamel model features a steel bracelet with inlaid white enamel links and push-button deployment.

Advantage is a chronograph featuring a red or black enamel bezel set with six diamonds. The watch has a stainless steel case, a mother-of-pearl dial with green crocodile logo, and luminescent coated steel hands with red sweep. It also has a steel crown with debossed crocodile logo and is water-resistant to 50m (165ft or 5atm).

The watch has a white leather spectator strap with debossed Lacoste logo and red or black leather edging to complement the bezel. For a more classically masculine look, the watch is also available in a steel link bracelet version without diamonds.
