Lagardère Services Asia Pacific to introduce ‘Discover’ concept to Sydney Airport following tender victory– 28/05/08

The Discover Sydney concept will be unmistakeably Australian, says Lagardère Services Asia Pacific

AUSTRALIA. Lagardère Services Asia Pacific is to operate its new destination merchandise stores at Sydney International Airport Terminal 1 under the Discover Sydney brand. And the stores will be “unmistakeably Australian”, said the company.

As we revealed yesterday, Lagardère Services Asia Pacific claimed victory in the race for three key souvenir stores at Sydney’s International Terminal, which is being redeveloped.

Lagardère Services Asia Pacific CEO Scott Raisin said: “The stores are designed to stand proudly Australian, using a vivid colour palette, bold textural imagery and authentic surfaces to showcase a comprehensive souvenir offer in a new and innovative way.”

The “˜Discover’ brand was first introduced at Melbourne International Airport in 2006 and has also recently been awarded space at Cairns Airport in both the International and Domestic terminals.

“Australia will run through the veins of our Sydney Discover stores,” said Raisin. “Its core is evocative of the landscape, unmistakeably Australian. Discover at Sydney International Airport will be a beautiful and integrated experience; a talking point and a piece of Australia to enjoy and share.”

Lagardère Services Asia Pacific operates more than 100 stores throughout the Asia Pacific region including operations in Australia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
