Dag Rasmussen: Leveraging the group’s global strengths more effectively |
INTERNATIONAL. As revealed last week by President and COO Dag Rasmussen at The Trinity Forum, Lagardère Services’ travel retail business has been rebranded as LS Travel Retail. It is intended as a new global identity and as a consistent name for the group’s operations across 20 countries.

At the same time, the group’s business is being restructured into regional divisions – LS Travel Retail ASPAC (Asia Pacific), LS Travel Retail EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) and the retail companies in North America.
Each division will be headed up by a COO, and have country-specific teams to provide landlords and brands with operational, merchandising, buying and local market expertise and local contacts, as well as a regional team of Regional Business Development, Buying, Marketing, IT and Logistics experts.
Dag Rasmussen said: “We are launching a dynamic new core identity – LS Travel Retail – that will enable us to consolidate our growth globally right across our travel retail operations, particularly in duty free and luxury retailing.

“We need a consistent name expressing our travel retail identity worldwide so that we can leverage globally the exceptional results we deliver locally. We have great relationships with brands in many parts of the world and our aim is to build on these strengths in other locations too. We have also developed a range of innovative and highly effective retail concepts across all travel retail categories but, to date, the lack of a common identity has meant that the strength of our expertise has not been fully expressed or recognised.
“We are committed to being known as the preferred partner for landlords and brands through keeping our promises and delivering outstanding outcomes for the traveller and the landlord, both globally and locally. That’s what we’ve done so far and, under our new common identity of LS Travel Retail, we will communicate and evidence this reputation far more effectively. This strategy further supports our ambition for growth and the continued delivery of exceptional performance for our partners and delightful retail experiences for our shoppers.”
