Lambretta scoots to Basel with retro watches – 07/03/05

The new models are said to have their roots in the famous scooter of the early 50’s, but with a twist

SWEDEN. Lambretta Watches is launching a new generation of watch design in celebration of five years as the number one quality retro watch brand. The new models are said to have their roots in the famous scooter of the early 50’s, but with a twist.

A preview will take place at Baselworld, the world’s leading watch and jewellery show in Basel, Switzerland, from 31 March to 7 April 2005.

“We have worked very hard the last year, with focus on price level and design,” said Jonas Dahlgren, President of Lambretta Watches. “As a result, we have got many new models with extreme functional shapes, and with that genuine Lambretta feeling. Our collection is wider than ever, both in price and design.”

The entire collection will be available in stores throughout Europe in the early summer. There are four models in the new collection:

Jet: Clearly inspired by the speedometer of the Lambretta SX150. Comes with an integrated digital chronograph with timekeeping, day/date, dual time and alarm. Fitted with a bold leather strap. Was rolled out in a few countries last Autumn.

Classico: This model is dedicated to Dante Innocenti, the father of Ferdinando Innocenti, founder of the Lambretta brand. Fitted with a leather strap. For that extra retro feeling, a wide leather extension pad can be applied to the ordinary strap.

Cassola: First chronograph in the Lambretta Watches collection. Named after Signor Cassola, one of the first drivers in the Lambretta racing team. Fitted with a leather strap.

Modena: Fashion watch inspired by the late 50’s LI model’s sharp front fork. Fitted with a wide leather strap.
