Lancôme extends Absolue franchise – 06/04/05

FRANCE. Lancôme has created a new foundation line for mature skins, called Absolue Teint. It is available in European and Asian markets only, priced domestically at €55 for a 35ml pot.

The make-up harnesses the ingredients and technology of Lancôme’s Absolue anti-ageing treatment. Consequently it features brown algae and extract of wild yam to help combat loss of elasticity/tone, and boost the production of lipids.

The Absolue Hydro-Protection System is said to increase hydration, while the High Protection Anti-Age UVA/UVB (PA+++) Complex SPF20 helps to defend against the sun’s rays.

In addition, the formula – a smooth, “whipped cream” texture – features Lancôme’s Color Clarity System. This helps to shade out brown spots and “unify” the complexion, thanks to multi-reflecting micro-pearl pigments.

To aid application, Lancôme has created a new brush, Pinceau Teint, to complement the foundation. It is said to help deliver a more natural-looking finish and longer-lasting coverage.

Also new is Absolue Body, available in the Americas, priced domestically at €112. Again targeted at the mature woman, the product is described as the first complete anti-ageing body cream specifically suited to the needs of the over-55s.

It is said to firm, hydrate and nourish, and promote an intense “anti-sagging” action, thanks to its Reconstructing Bio-Network Technology.

Lastly, Lancôme has created Absolue Masque, available in Asian markets only. The replenishing concentrated cloth-masks (six individually-wrapped per box) are said to deliver an immediate replumping/radiance effect.

They can be used weekly or as an intensive “cure” treatment, in the morning or at night.
