Lancôme has unveiled a key new skin care initiative. Dreamtone Ultimate Dark Spot Corrector Beautiful Skin Creator will be launched in the travel retail channel this autumn.
The product is described as the first bespoke, all-round pigment corrector that acts on dark spots, a lack of uniformity and colour irregularities. Three different formulations are available, to serve the three pigmentation profiles identified by Lancôme. Number 1 is suitable for fair skin, whose major concern is a tendency to redness; 2 is for medium skin, which tends to look sallow; 3 is for dark skin which tends to show blemish marks.
Dreamtone features new Triple Action Technology comprising a cores of actives which target both melanocytes and melanotope (melanocytes are the cells responsible for the production of melanin; melanotope their environment). This approach targets excess melanin synthesis, reshapes the architecture of the dermis and fights against inflammation and oxidative stress, according to Lancôme.
Each Dreamtone formula delivers an immediate correcting effect, thanks to reflecting agents, pink and copper pigments and light-diffusing particles. The product feels fresh and light, and is quickly absorbed.
The triangular Dreamtone bottle is coloured a pinky-red, with an innovative, integral twist-lid. It is available as a 40ml and is suitable for use on face, décolleté and hands.
To create the formula, Lancôme carried out research across three continents, on three pigment profiles, with 470 women concerned by dark spots and pigmentation marks. Tests showed that after 12 weeks’ use, there was an overall improvement of +25% in complexion consistency, the brand maintains.
