LAX suffers from SARS

US. Passenger traffic at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) decreased by -2.25% to 55 million passengers in 2003. However, there has been a rebound in December with year-on-year traffic up +3%.

LAX officials attributed the decrease in passengers for 2003 primarily to the impact of fears over the SARS outbreak in Asia in the first half of the year. LAX is the largest Pacific Rim gateway airport in the US.
