Swiss lifestyle brand Victorinox has released the Spectra 3.0 Trolley Collection in global travel retail. The refreshed Spectra line features the first Victorinox suitcase to be made from a recycled, polycarbonate shell material. Alongside travel retail it is now available in Victorinox’s stores, speciality shops and via ecommerce channels.
The launch is supported by a dynamic promotional pop-up campaign under the theme ‘Let Life Take Flight’, in both travel retail and domestic markets. The campaign highlights the luggage’s key features and personalisation elements.

Commenting on the refreshed line, Victorinox Head of Global Channels Thomas Bodenmann said: “Travel gear is one of the few categories in travel retail which must readily react to fundamental changes in the way we go about our lives, where functionality, not indulgence, lies at its heart. As travel evolves, so must travel gear, putting the onus on manufacturers to consistently invest and innovate.”
The Spectra 3.0 collection took over three years to develop and offers new expandable sizes for the Global Carry-On, Frequent Flyer Carry-On, Frequent Flyer Plus Carry-On, Medium Case and Large Case. The range has been extended to include a new Trunk Large Case which comes with two packing tubes. The line has been equipped with several features that support a hassle-free journey inspired by the functionality of the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife.

For example, the front opening compartment on the Spectra 3.0 Global Carry-On and Frequent Flyer Carry-On allows for quick access to store a laptop and other important travel documents, without needing to open the main case. The compartment features an organisation panel that can be locked independently from the main luggage using a four-slot TSA approved lock.
The line’s medium and large models come with built-in self-expandable systems that offer up to 40% additional volume, while the carry-on styles offer up to 20% additional packing space. The expansion system uses a lightweight spring construction that automatically expands as soon as it is unzipped, holding sidewalls and allowing for easy top-loading.

The line’s travel gear products feature 100% recycled lining treated with Silvadur technology that prevents the growth of microorganisms in fabric. The lining can be cleaned up to 40 times without losing the treatment.
In addition, consumers can personalise their Spectra 3.0 purchases by having their initials and names engraved on a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife in their chosen colour. The collection comes with a global 1+10 years warranty.
In European travel retail, the Spectra 3.0 Collection is being supported by a large-scale advertising campaign at Zürich Airport, which includes a high-profile billboard on the exterior of the main car park.
Bodenmann added, “The launch of the impressive Spectra 3.0 collection is very timely as consumers begin traveling again and seek sustainable, premium luggage that they can rely on for years to come. I’ve used it myself and the superior functionality of Spectra 3.0 brings another dimension to the travel retail luggage offer, providing consumers with an unrivalled level of comfort and security which enables them to travel worry-free.”
