Maitre Masterclasses and chocolate making demonstrations will be attractions on the Lindt stand at Cannes |
Lindt will focus on its Maitre Masterclasses and new collections at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes in October (Stand: Marine Village R5 and R7).
To bring the skill of the master chocolatier to life, Lindt has interactive chocolate making shows planned; a central feature of its on-stand demonstrations will be new lines for 2016, with its Swiss Masterpieces pralines collection the star attraction.
Lindt & Sprüngli Head of Global Duty Free Division Peter Zehnder said: “Creating pralines is an art that requires considerable knowledge and expertise, which our Master Chocolatiers have refined over more than 170 years. This elegant new range of “˜true masterpieces’ is the embodiment of that skill. Each of the new pralines has been created with the passion, attention to detail and insistence on perfection that is the hallmark of the Master Chocolatier. Beautifully decorated and packaged, they are a delight to the eye as well as to taste.”
The new range includes six travel retail exclusive selections of 13 pralines. There are three assorted collections, in 145g, 220g, and 440g boxes, complemented by a 145g dark collection. A range highlight is an assorted 250g and a dark 250g ballotin. Each is presented in a ribbon decorated golden box, evidence of Lindt’s determination to target the formal gifting segment of the confectionery market.
“Our research shows that passengers are looking for something special and exclusive to the travel retail market,” Zehnder continued.
“However they also want the reassurance that comes from choosing a well-respected internationally renowned brand. We are certain that this new range will attract the all-important gifting sector, which currently accounts for 60% of all confectionery sales in travel retail. We also feel that it will have appeal to the ever-growing number of Asian and Middle Eastern travellers.”
Lindt said its Master Chocolatiers developed more than 100 recipes before making selections for the new pralines which include Dôme de Noisette, a crunchy milk chocolate with hazelnut centre.
The Swiss Masterpieces will be available from February next year, its launch supported by a promotional programme, including footage from the Lindt Swiss Chocolate Festival, celebrating the brand’s 170-year heritage. Tailor-made furniture, displays and POS communication material will be available.
TFWA visitors to the Lindt stand will be able to observe Master Chocolatiers in action at praline-making demonstrations and a series of Maitre Masterclasses. The craftsmen will lead 15 minute live-action sessions , divulging some of the secrets of making fine melting chocolate and the art of creating pralines. The focal point of the stand, Lindt said, will be the historically authentic Master Chocolatier’s kitchen.
