LIQUOR & WINES: Jacob’s Creek warms up for Wimbledon

UK. Jacob’s Creek is once again gearing up for this year’s Wimbledon Tennis Championships, the prestigious tournament which begins on 23 June. The brand is now in its sixth year of sponsorship as the Official Australian Wine Supplier.

To help increase visibility and awareness of Jacob’s Creek and the high profile sponsorship, Pernod Ricard World Trade (PRWT) will run a series of instore tastings which will take place at London’s Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports. Hostesses, kitted out in branded clothing, will be on hand to encourage travellers to sample a range of Jacob’s Creek wines. The sponsorship will also be highlighted at other European airports by eye-catching POS featuring the new “Say When” advertising campaign that has been successfully implemented in the UK.

From June, travellers will also be able to take advantage of price promotions in World Duty Free stores (Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted) and buy three newly-listed Jacob’s Creek Reserves for £18 (US$29). At Amsterdam Schiphol airport the offer will be a 10% discount on two bottles.

PRWT marketing director James Clarke commented: “The Wimbledon sponsorship provides a great platform for Jacob’s Creek, not just in the UK but internationally. As such it is a natural opportunity to remind travellers of the Jacob’s Creek brand, especially after the new listings secured earlier this year.”
