L’Oréal glams up Emporio Armani franchise – 01/08/05

FRANCE. L’Oréal Produits de Luxe International has unveiled a new Emporio couple: City Glam.

The latest Emporio Armani fragrance duo will be launched into European travel retail from mid-September, followed by Asia in January 2006.

The new line is described as daring and extrovert – a fragrant match for the pace of capital cities such as London, New York, Milan, Barcelona or Paris.

The scents are said to deliver urban seduction, glamour and sexiness, as part of a fourth Emporio Armani lifestyle. Their predecessors (Classic, White and Night) offered romanticism, freshness and nocturnal passion, respectively.

City Glam for Her is a bold, sensual chypre. The juice opens on notes of blackcurrant, plum and coriander, leading to a floral heart of Bulgarian rose. The base features patchouli, moss crystals and musk.

City Glam for Him is described as a “stimulating woody”, opening with a blend of bitter orange and peppermint, followed by a heart of ginger and galanga. The dry-down combines vetiver, musk and, like its feminine counterpart, a moss crystal accord.

The signature Emporio flacons are coloured pink and silver for Her, and black and silver for Him. For the first time each is tagged with an outsized chrome logo.

Both bottles are wrapped in silver flowpacks, stamped with black “City” lettering for the men’s fragrance, and a pink “Glam” logo for the women’s.

The City Glam line-up features 50ml and 100ml edps (for Her) and 50ml and 100ml edts (for Him). The recommended domestic price points are €49.90/ €70 and €46/€63.50, respectively.

The launch will be supported by both print and TV advertising.
