Lotte Duty Free adds allure to online store offer with new Celeb Shop

SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has launched the Celeb Shop channel at its online store, showcasing brands owned by social media influencers.

The Celeb Shop is the first of its kind in South Korea travel retail, according to Lotte Duty Free. It offers more than 160 items from 17 brands, including makeup from Returnity, food supplements from Paper Bag, shapewear from Bodyco and accessories from The Parkji.

Among the featured social media celebrities are Bodyco Founder Park Sunwoo, who has 485,000 Instagram followers. Also joining the line-up is Choi Seon-jeong, with over 200,000 Instagram followers and CEO of Paperbag, a brand famous for its protein shake It’s Minus Shake.

The Celeb Shop currently features eight brands from macro influencers (influencers with 100,000 to 1 million followers), with more to be added to the list, Lotte Duty Free said.

The travel retailer is also preparing a high-profile campaign to further promote the launch of the online store, including marketing collaborations with influencers and a giveaway event.

Lotte Duty Free EC Innovation Department Head Kim Won-sik said: “Customer satisfaction is expected to be high as brands of famous influencers can be showcased at Lotte Internet Duty Free Shop. Lotte Duty Free Shop will continue to do its best to ensure that customers can experience a variety of duty-free shopping.”

The travel retailer has underlined the increasing popularity of its online store, registering an +80% year-on-year increase in online sales from January to May.

With a projected growth in demand for outbound trips during the busy summer travel season, Lotte Duty Free has enhanced its brand portfolio across various categories.

As reported, the retailer in April added popular fashion brands Ami Paris and Maison Kitsuné to its online fashion store line-up. It has also extended its online liquor store offer with more exclusive products, including Japan’s leading sake brand Dassai.

To celebrate the summer break, Lotte Duty Free has rolled out various promotional discounts of up to -45% on fashion, water play equipment and food products; and -40% on swimming, golf and tennis wear.

In addition, customers can enjoy up to -30% discount on audio devices such as speakers and headsets. ✈
