SOUTH KOREA/GUAM. Lotte Duty Free is targeting newlyweds as part of an extensive ‘Future Departments’ promotion that anticipates the easing of the COVID-19 crisis.
The campaign, which runs from February to August, offers a range of incentives for newlyweds to travel to Guam, where Lotte Duty Free is the retail concessionaire at A.B. Won Pat International Airport.
The promotion features a 5-day, 4-night Guam tour product that is sold in the form of advance reservation tickets to wedding customers waiting for overseas travel under the concept of ‘Book your hope’.
The travel package comprises discounts at Lotte Duty Free, a round-trip ticket with Jin Air, accommodation and breakfast at Lotte Hotel Guam, and a bottle of wine for newlyweds, along with a welcome cake or fruit basket as a commemorative gift, and an island tour. Jin Air will operate 9 return charter flights from 21 July to 18 September. Each flight can carry 180 newlyweds.
Guam recently announced plans to ease quarantine requirements with the goal of resuming tourism in May. Lotte Duty Free is offering a full-refund of deposits to help encourage bookings.
Last week the Guam Visitors Bureau in collaboration with the Customs and Quarantine Agency and the Guam International Airport Authority (GIAA) launched the Guam Electronic Declaration Form, designed to provide visitors with a safer touchless entry process upon arrival.
The travel retailer is also offering discounts of up to -50% off products, various Lotte Duty Free membership upgrades, and a range of prize incentives.
Lotte Duty Free spokesman Lee Jung-min said: “With the expansion of vaccinations around the world, there is an increasing expectation that we will be able to travel abroad. We plan to conduct various events and promotions to encourage future visitors while keeping an eye on the COVID-19 situation.”
