The company said: “Lotte Duty Free has analysed the preferences of Chinese tourists and launched 270 brands, including jewellery, accessories, cosmetics, watches, liquor and tobacco.”
Leading luxury brands Bulgari and Tiffany & Co are additional highlights of the offer.
Lotte Duty Free’s “˜Special zones’ include areas dedicated to cosmetics (70 brands); a K-fashion zone; and the Jeju Dalu – a designated section on the third floor for Jeju products that promotes the wares and business of 26 local companies.
Lotte commented: “The interior of Jeju Dalu which makes customers appreciate the beauty of Jeju island, one of the world heritage sites, also gives foreign customers the pleasure of shopping.”
Lotte Duty Free Jeju has widened the store walkway and assigned a customer lounge on each floor to improve customer convenience.
The retailer invested some KRW800 million (US$73 million) in the interior design and fit-out of the liquor & tobacco zone, food zone, electronics zone and gift zone so that these areas would stand-up to the “gentrified” look of the luxury brand sections.
The company commented: “Lotte Duty Free Jeju, as a landmark of shopping in Jeju, will take the lead in strengthening the tourism competitiveness power of Jeju.
“Lotte Duty Free Jeju will concentrate its marketing capability to boost the island’s tourism brand. It will do this by developing Jeju tourism programmes with 12 offices around the world and the Lotte Group networks; by holding K-wave star fan meetings and concerts; and by investing in diverse forms of cultural content – in addition to creating Star Avenue [Lotte’s trademark K-pop and Korean wave attraction -Ed], which will be constructed in the Baojian Road near the Lotte Duty Free Jeju store.”
Lotte Duty Free has produced a special film dedicated to promoting the attractions of Jeju. It is being released on various social media channels, including YouTube, Facebook, Weibo and Wechat.
