AUSTRALIA. Lotte Duty Free has partially unveiled its updated arrivals store at Melbourne Airport, offering an early preview ahead of its full September reopening.

The retailer posted photos on social media, sharing a first look at the spirits & wine and beauty sections.

As previously reported, Lotte Duty Free officially launched its Melbourne Airport operations in July 2023, unveiling an ambitious ten-year plan for redevelopment and growth.

The business opened with 3,592sq m of combined retail space across arrivals and departures, making it the group’s second-largest international airport location after Singapore Changi.

Plans are underway to expand the footprint to 5,634sq m, beginning with a major renovation of the arrivals store, followed by a +40% expansion of the Departures store by late 2026.

This transformation is aligned with Melbourne Airport’s long-term retail development strategy, aimed at offering a broader product range and more immersive activations for travellers.

The launch also coincided with an exclusive promotion through the retailer’s Qantas Frequent Flyer partnership, rewarding shoppers with 1 Qantas Point for every A$1 (US$0.66) spent on eligible items.
