Lotte Travel Retail awarded three-year extension to key Changi Airport duty-free contract

SINGAPORE. Changi Airport Group (CAG) has extended Lotte Travel Retail’s presence at Changi Airport through a new three-year extension of the South Korean company’s liquor and tobacco duty-free concession, effective 9 June 2026.

The renewed contract covers 18 stores and more than 8,600sq m of space across the airport’s four terminals. The Moodie Davitt Report has been aware of this important development for some time but by agreement with Changi Airport Group had held off publishing until the eve of TFWA Asia Pacific in Singapore next week (11-15 May).

The retailer’s tenancy at Changi Airport began in COVID-ravaged 2020.

Despite the challenges of local and global travel suspensions, Lotte Travel Retail and CAG took the opportunity during the pandemic to refine the shopping experience in anticipation of a passenger traffic return.

The effort led to a complete overhaul of the T2 and T3 Lotte central flagship stores, now featuring futuristic elements such as robotic bartenders, towering LED screens and a wide range of wines & spirits.

As part of the extended partnership, Lotte Duty Free will feature more limited-edition releases, similar to the recent Asia Pacific travel retail debut of SirDavis, a premium whisky co-founded by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Moët Hennessy at Changi; and Paul John, marking the first Indian single malt whisky available at the airport.

Additional partnerships with popular global wines & spirits houses are also underway, including Kavalan Distillery, Bruichladdich and Four Pillars Gin.

Other showcases will feature emerging and homegrown brands, such as Raffles Hotel, presenting its popular Singapore Sling in a ready-to-drink format.

Changi 1st is extending its pop-up series, featuring exclusive product launches and interactive brand experiences. The line-up will include collaborations with prestige brands such as Glenfiddich x Aston Martin F1, Hennessy and Martell.

To cater to its expanding clientele, Lotte Duty Free is launching an ultra-exclusive private experience for Very Important Clients (VICs). In collaboration with Suntory Global Spirits, this experience will feature private tastings with a brand ambassador and personalised shopping sessions at the T2 and T3 flagship stores.

More to follow soon, including details of a vastly expanded retail and food & beverage estate across the airport.
