SINGAPORE. LS travel retail ASIA has appointed Charn Cheng “˜CC’ Lee as General Manager Singapore following the departure of Jong Lee Tan.

Lee, who was previously responsible for the group’s business in Hong Kong and Taiwan – a responsibility he will retain on an interim basis until a replacement is found – will continue to report to LS travel retail ASPAC Chief Operating Officer Emmanuel de Place.

In Singapore Lee will manage a portfolio of 21 stores, including an upcoming monobrand Hugo Boss store. The company said the appointment “marks another step in LS travel retail’s strategy to strengthen our unified approach to regional retail operations and business development”.

De Place said: “CC has successfully led our Hong Kong team last year and we have no doubt that he will be warmly welcomed here. We are saddened by Jong Lee’s departure but wish her the best in her personal projects.”

CC added: “Tourism in Asia Pacific is attracting more travellers than before and this promises an exciting era for travel and duty free retailers. I am committed to working with the team and Changi Airport Group to drive the business to the next level of achievement and growth in Singapore.”

Prior to joining LS travel retail in Hong Kong, Lee was Country Manager for Valiram Group in Singapore. He started his travel retail career with DFS, working in several operational roles across the region in his 26 years with the company, including Managing Director Singapore and Managing Director Australia.
