LS travel retail Roma launches new-look offer at Rome Fiumicino

The new store features a wide range of new products, including Italian specialities

ITALY. LS travel retail Roma has opened the first in a series of new stores at Rome Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport, under the Aelia Duty Free name.

The first new Aelia Duty Free unit opened in Terminal 1 on 9 March and features a wider range of products including fragrances, wines, chocolates and Italian specialities.

This is the first opening after the sale of the shops previously managed by Aeroporti di Roma to Lagardère Services on 1 October 2012. By July the airport will feature fully renovated and expanded shops.

The retail sales surface is going to increase from 3,500sq m to nearly 5,000sq m and will bring the quality of the service offered to passengers in line with the standards of other European and international airports, said the retailer.

LS travel retail Roma CEO Séverine Lantheir said: “I am very happy with the first contributions to the duty free and luxury commercial developments in Rome’s airports. Thanks to the quality and participation of the teams involved, I am sure that we will rise to the challenge of the numerous new openings which await.”
