Luxottica has launched the 2017 Valentino eyewear collection, the first range in a new collaboration with the Italian fashion house.
A ten-year licensing agreement between the two companies was announced last year.
The new range is said to reveal the “essence” of Valentino style and pay “homage to the beauty and individuality of contemporary women”.
Valentino’s sunglasses range is said to offer a mix of sensual designs and punk metal, crystals and nylon. All designs feature the brand’s stud symbol on the temples.
The oval metal VA2003 design features rimless lenses, fixed with visible screws, and is characterised by a side mesh inspired by post-industrial style. The temples have acetate temple tips and adjustable nose pads. The lightweight model is available in pale gold with brown lenses and gunmetal/ruthenium with green lenses.
Described as a “stylish interpretation of aviator-inspired rebel charm”, VA2004B metal sunglasses feature a double bridge and bold metal rims, with crystals on the lower bridge and bevels. The model is available in two matte finishes: sandblasted pale gold with green lenses and sandblasted silver with pink mirrored lenses.
Square acetate sunglasses (VA4005) are said to be a feminine interpretation of rock style. The frame front features crystal inserts and the model is available in havana and transparent, with gradient cognac lenses, and black and transparent beige, with gradient smoke grey lenses.
The large, square VA4008 design has a nylon profile and coloured lenses and is characterised by a series of overlays, held together by studs. Three colourways are available: silver metal and smoke grey lenses; pale gold metal and pale gold mirrored lenses and gunmetal metal and black mirrored lenses.
The collection also includes round shiny acetate glasses (VA4009CB) in a feminine design, with a key bridge, visible metal rivets and temples finished with Valentino’s iconic studs. The model features matching clip-ons, made from metal with a double bridge and lenses bordered by 200 crystals. Colour options are: black with smoke grey lenses and havana with rose gold mirrored lenses.
Square shiny acetate sunglasses (VA4010) feature a straight, thick frame front decorated with a row of studs, which also feature on the tips of the shaped temples. It is available in black and havana, both with smoke grey lenses.
VA4014 is a nylon and metal aviator model, described as “a reinterpretation of Valentino style”. The two frame fronts are held together by studs, which are visible from the inside. The model is available in three combinations: silver with black and smoke grey lenses; rose gold with havana and brown lenses; pale gold with blonde havana and green lenses.
