FRANCE. Former Apple Senior Director and Beats Music CEO Ian Rogers is to become Chief Digital Officer of the LVMH Group, effective October 2015.
Rogers will be tasked with exploring new opportunities in the digital sphere for the LVMH Group, according to Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault.
Arnault said: “I am happy to welcome Ian into our Group to strengthen our digital ecosystem. He will build on the foundations laid by Thomas Romieu [and] take the Houses to the next level. Ian will bring his extensive experience in high-end digital ventures and his innovation-driven spirit to develop LVMH leadership in the digital luxury field.”
Rogers joins LVMH from Apple, where he was serving as Senior Director following the company’s acquisition of Beats Music, where he had been CEO since 2013. He is credited with contributing to the recent launch of Apple Music, including digital streaming channel Beats1.
Rogers started his career in 1993 as webmaster successively for the Beastie Boys and at Nullsoft, and in 2001 founded Mediacode, which was later taken over by Yahoo. There, he became VP and General Manager, Music. In 2008, he became CEO of Topspin Media.
