MAC creates a winter wonderland of cosmetics with its Holiday 2011 Glitter and Ice collection |
MAC Cosmetics has unveiled its 2011 Holiday Collection, Glitter and Ice. It is rolling out this month in global travel retail. The face of the collection is Olympic skater Johnny Weir.
Said to be full of spirit and sparkle, the Glitter and Ice line features Dazzleglass Crèmes, frosted lipsticks, shimmering Beauty Powder, Mineralize eye shadow in “winterised” shades, Technakohl Liner, Glimmering Paint Pots, Opulash mascara, and sumptuous tones of Pigments and Nail Lacquers. In line with the theme, the packaging for the products is a winter white.
Highlights of the collection include shakeable snow globe eye shadow palettes, each containing six different shades; Iced Delights lip, nail and eye kits, in clear packaging trimmed with a metallic silver circle; and two special-edition Viva Glam sets, all proceeds from which will benefit the MAC Aids Fund.
The first, the Viva Glam Melt Your Heart Lip Bag, contains the Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick in Pink (lustre), and the Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lipstick in Nude (amplified), presented in a red metallic bag with a glitter handle. The second set contains a new shade of Viva Glam Lipglass in Red, plus a silver Kids Helping Kids teddy bear tree ornament.
