Malayali Beer makes Middle East debut with Muscat Duty Free

OMAN. Muscat Duty Free has celebrated the launch of Malayali Beer in its stores, after it became the first Middle East duty-free operator to list the brand.

Malayali Beer – established in 2022 in Poland by Malayali duo Chandramohan Nallur and Sargheve Sukumaran – has expanded rapidly across multiple markets, with Muscat Duty Free its 21st international launch.

The brand’s roots lie in Operation Ganga, India’s evacuation mission during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which inspired the founders to create a product symbolising resilience, identity and unity.

European beer-brewing traditions are blended with Indian rice flakes to give Malayali Beer a crisp, smooth taste.

Nallur said: Debuting at Muscat Duty Free is a proud achievement. Collaborating with such a forward-thinking operator enables us to connect with a broad international audience at this vital Middle Eastern hub.”

Muscat Duty Free Chief Commercial Officer Faiz Arshad Khan said he saw strong potential for the listing given the passenger mix at Muscat International Airport.

He added, “With a significant number of our travellers hailing from the southern part of India, our strategy to offer something unique aligns perfectly with the launch of Malayali Beer.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to bringing innovation and variety to our shelves. Malayali Beer is a brand full of character and we’re excited to offer travellers a truly authentic ‘Glocal’ experience.”

Muscat Duty Free CEO Renat Rozpravka commented: “We are proud to be the first in the Middle East to introduce Malayali Beer. This launch reflects our vision to continually enrich our offerings and create memorable experiences for passengers.”
