MALAYSIA. Malaysia Airports has launched a shopping campaign to support the Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) tourism initiative, boost spending on local brands and showcase the country’s offerings.
Named ShopLAH, the campaign combines shopping, dining and cultural experiences across Malaysia Airports, highlighting travel retail’s role in driving visitor engagement and tourism spending.

Malaysia Airports Managing Director Dato’ Mohd Izani Ghani said, “The campaign enhances the passenger travel experience while strengthening our commercial ecosystem through close collaboration with concessionaires, local brands and the creative community.
“By activating airport retail as part of the journey, we are reinforcing our airports as gateways that connect tourism, business and Malaysian identity, in line with our broader aim to position Malaysia as the most connected country in Asia Pacific.”

The campaign reflects Malaysia Airports’ strong commercial performance in 2025, with sales transactions rising +28.8% to approximately 44 million, as passenger traffic reached 104.5 million across its network.
The success was fuelled by an emphasis on Malaysian brands, creating a sense of place, with highlights such as Oriental Kopi, Kapten Batik, Serai, Jibby Chow and Little Malaysia.

The fastest-growing categories included food & beverage, which rose +19% year-on-year, while gifts and souvenirs increased +42%.
Chocolate and confectionery performance is increasingly driven by Malaysian brands, accounting for 33% of the category.
Adding value for international travellers throughout the campaign period, Malaysia Airports will introduce the digital Tourist Privilege Card within the MYAirports App, providing discounts, shopping privileges and rewards at select retail and food outlets.

As part of ShopLAH, travellers can take home limited-edition foldable souvenir bags, co-designed with Malaysian artists Hsieying, Kideika, Daisy Dalia and Afi Sulaiman to reflect culture, heritage, urban lifestyle and local cuisine in sustainable formats. ✈
