Malaysia Airports launches tenders for 42 retail and F&B concessions at Kuala Lumpur Airport

MALAYSIA. Malaysia Airports has this week issued a flurry of tenders for 42 retail and food & beverage opportunities across Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)’s terminals 1 and 2.

Retail

The airport company is fast-tracking six of the retail opportunities with a 13 September deadline for bids.

They cover six retail outlets under the following categories:

  • Gifts and/or Accessories/Jewellery (T2)
  • Gifts and/or Souvenir – food based/non-food based (T2)
  • Asian Souvenirs & Handicrafts (T2)
  • Fashion & Accessories/Jewellery (two stores T2)
  • Fashion & Accessories/Jewellery (T1)

These retail spaces range in size between 47sq m and 87sq m.

There are 22 more retail opportunities across KLIA terminals 1 and 2 with an 11 October bidding deadline.

The retail stores available in KLIA1 are as follows: Convenience (18 sq m); Chocolate (61.5sq m); Fashion & Accessories (39sq m); Fine Premium Confectionery/Premium Luggage (138.3sq m); Travel Gadget Electronics & Accessories (73sq m); and Children’s Toys, Hobbies & Collectables (141sq m).

KLIA2 retail store opportunities:

  • Pharmacy (two stores – 117.07 sq m and 124.93sq m);
  • Gadget & Electronics (two stores – 73.42sq m and 84.95sq m);
  • Gift & Souvenir and/or Local Packed Food (two stores – 94.41sq m and 61.6 sq m);
  • Gift &/or Accessories /Local Packed Food (two stores – 69.19sq m and 53.76sq m);
  • Convenience (112.27sq m);
  • Fashion and/or Accessories (66.78sq m);
  • Fashion and/or Accessories/Jewellery (56.81sq m);
  • Beauty & Body Care (73.38sq m);
  • Perfumes & Cosmetics (117.07sq m);
  • Chocolates & Confectioneries (61.6sq m);
  • Premium Gift (113.53sq m);
  • Travel Luggage & Accessories (126.36 sq m).

Food & beverage

Malaysia Airports is fast-tracking two F&B opportunities with a 13 September deadline for bids. They are for a Speciality (Vegetarian) venue and a Grab & Go outlet, both in 55sq m spaces.

The remaining opportunities, with an 11 October bidding deadline, include Casual Dining/Hotpot (172.73sq m); Local Malaysian Restaurant (224.93sq m); Quick Serve Restaurant (239.00sq m); Asian/Chinese Cuisine (232.47sq m); Lifestyle Bar (55sq m); Quick Bites – Healthy/Dessert (55sq m).

Concessions are also available for four Grab & Go venues (ranging in size between 25sq m and 58sq m) and two Local Café venues (35.65sq m and 40.32sq m).

All 42 retail and F&B concession opportunities are available under three-year contracts with an option for two additional years.
