Manchester Airport invests £1.9 million in upgraded passenger lounge

UK. Manchester Airport has unveiled its refurbished and expanded Escape Lounge in Terminal 2 following a £1.9 million investment.

Capacity in the lounge has been increased by a third and there is now room for up to 212 passengers.

A new kitchen and bar have been added to the main lounge, which has been created by knocking two lounges into one.

Manchester Airports Group originally launched the Escape Lounge brand in the airport’s Terminal 2 in 2006. A second was added in Terminal 1 in 2010 and a third in Terminal 3 in 2013, as well as launching at East Midlands Airport and London Stansted in 2014.

The Escape Lounge brand has also recently launched in the US with an opening at Minneapolis-St Paul Airport. The concept will be expanded to Oakland International Airport this summer, with a further lounge set to open at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut in the winter.
