The new cookbook from Frankfurt Airport |
GERMANY. Food & beverage brand Marché (operated by concessionaire Mövenpick) has introduced a new series of á la carte specialities to its menu, which were inspired by the recent launch of Frankfurt Airport’s own cookbook.
The cookbook contains 30 recipes from professional and amateur cooks from 18 countries, all of whom work at or have a connection to Frankfurt Airport.
The collection includes haute cuisine from star cooks like Gerd Käfer and Gregor Meyer, Vietnamese and other dishes from popular restaurants at the airport, and favourites from a variety of cultures and food traditions contributed by individuals who are employed in the airport’s cosmopolitan environment. Examples of these are a lamb recipe from a Greek ground handling foreman, sushi from a Japan Airlines station manager, and Hesse-style roast hare from the airport’s head of forestry.
The Marché restaurant team liked the airport cookbook so much that they decided to prepare recipes from it every Thursday until May, according to Fraport.
Marché is also inviting the contributors to come and test the dishes in the restaurant, located on the Arrivals level. The recipe series kicked off on February 18 with laksa, an Asian noodle dish contributed by a Lufthansa pilot.
