US. Marchon Eyewear Inc, the leading eyewear manufacturer and distributor, has launched the Fall 2008 sunglasses collection for Italian fashion house Emilio Pucci.
EP106S. EP107S. EP624S: Drawing inspiration from the Emilio Pucci runway collection, these new styles feature varying freeform shapes linked together forming the temples. This new hardware is a signature Pucci design element. Each link is contoured metal and displays vivid colourations enhancing the rectangular shape of the EP106S model, the modified oval and modern top bar of the EP107S line, and fluid butterfly shape of the EP624S. Each style is available in rich shades and complementing Pucci colours.
EP108S. EP619S: An adaptation of the freeform links, these two styles feature a single link at the end pieces that are covered in fresh Pucci prints. An embedded, polished metal plaque engraved with the Pucci logo contrasts the deep shades of ebony, orchid, sangria and sunflower zyl on the temples of the EP619S. The EP108S model is crafted of purely balanced metal with endpieces flowing into the temples. Five colours are available.
EP614S: Asymmetrical mosaic tiles on the EP614S are described as reminiscent of mosaic glass artistry. The custom-made mosaic tiles, each placed along the zyl temples, feature seasonal signature Pucci prints. Available in four colours.
EP617S: Emilio Pucci’s iconic Vivara print lends design inspiration, with the print lightly embossed down the zyl temples. The bold contoured shape incorporates vintage aspirations, and the line is available in three classic colours.
EP627S: Radiant Pucci prints flow down rich zyl temples in this style, while an inlayed solid metal plaque with keyhole accent features an engraved Pucci logo. The modified rectangular shape is featured in five colours.
EP629S: The classic shape of the EP629S is energised by the bold prints that wrap around the thick zyl temples. Each style is designed in colours of ebony, brown, sand and turquoise.
About Emilio Pucci
Born in 1914 to one of Florence’s oldest families, Emilio Pucci began his fashion career unexpectedly in 1947 when a photograph of a streamlined ski outfit he had created found its way to the pages of Harper’s Bazaar magazine. A talented colourist, he drew inspiration from nature, architecture and exotic cultures to create his signature prints, infusions of kaleidoscopic colours in graphic, abstract patterns.
Dubbed “The Prince of Prints” by the international fashion press, Emilio Pucci extended beyond fashion ready-to-wear to include lifestyle, perfumes, design and eyewear. Today Creative Director Matthew Williamson continues to lead the house into the 21st Century.
