ITALY. Italian wine producer Masi Agricola is now trading on the AIM Italia, the arm of the Borsa Italiana for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The deal, said to be the biggest in the history of the Italian AIM, represents the first time a high-quality wine producer has achieved stock market listing, according to Masi.
The Boscaini family, who will maintain a majority share in Masi, said it will look to grow the company within the parameters of its traditions through the acquisition of additional vineyards, equipment and staff.
Masi Agricola President and Managing Director Sandro Boscaini commented: “I would like to share with our shareholders and partners a feeling which is especially significant for people like us who are used to the land, are in touch with nature and produce wine, a product which, above all others, carries with it the culture of the region. Masi intends to keep these immutable values in place within the tight knit community of high-quality Italian wine producers.”
