Maui Jim sees global expansion with new listings – 20/04/09

US. Maui Jim Sunglasses has secured a series of new listings with key travel retailers in Asia, the Middle East and Europe as well as its first inflight listings onboard several Nordic airlines.

The US-based manufacturer of premium sunglasses gained its latest listing in Asia with Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO) in Jeju Island Airport, South Korea. The brand will also be available in the new Duty Free Americas store in Macau once renovation is completed. And in the Middle East, Maui Jim Sunglasses secured a listing with Phoenicia in the Beirut Duty Free Arrivals shop.

In Europe, close partnerships with major retailers have produced additional listings with Gebr Heinemann at Düsseldorf and Prague airports. The company is also working on an agreement with The Nuance Group’s European division to enter several airports in Europe in the next quarter.

The eyewear company secured its first inflight listings with Stockholm-based Inflight Service, which manages duty free services for several Nordic airlines, including SAS, TuiFly Nordic, Novair and Air Finland. Maui Jim and Inflight Service are working together to offer crew training in April and May, before the sunglasses are carried onboard.
