French gourmet food specialist Maxim’s de Paris has introduced a new range of Parisian specialities to the duty free market including a high-end chocolate range.
The new line-up includes a range of Maxim’s chocolate truffles filled with Parisian specialties: pistachio macaroon, salted butter caramel fondant, and lemon pie. A set of eight coloured truffles (90g/3.2oz) are presented in a modern card box with a stylish Parisian design.
Eight milk chocolate truffles are filled with pistachio macaroon; eight milk chocolate truffles filled with caramel fondant; and eight dark chocolate truffles filled with lemon pie. Travel retail recommended price is €6.90 per set.

Evolution in the product strategy
This line represents “a real evolution in our product strategy which aims to position ourselves as a major actor in the high-end chocolate segment”, Maxim’s said.
Iridescent and coloured designs were selected, it added, to enable the brand to distinguish itself from the competition, without confusing consumers. In addition, the brand’s identity has been lifted via the introduction of an art nouveau stylised Eiffel Tower and colours that recall the appearance of the chocolates.
Developed for the Christmas market, Connoisseurs chocolates gift box (240g/8.5oz) is an assortment of 24 fine chocolates, with 12 dark chocolates and 12 milk chocolates in a black gift box. Travel retail recommended price is €20.
Also for Christmas, Desserts Chocolates gift box (220g/7.8oz) is an assortment of 24 dessert-themed chocolates in a gold gift box: eight dark chocolates in fondant flavour; eight dark chocolates in tiramisu; and eight milk chocolates in crème brûlée. Travel retail recommended price is €20.

Chocolates Paris gift box (200g/7.05oz) is a new assortment of 20 milk and dark chocolates, presented in a luxury box with a Parisian background. Travel retail recommended price is €16.
A new sophisticated and trendy Gourmands Tin contains a collection of 30 gourmet biscuits with chocolate (170g/6.0oz). Travel retail recommended price is €15.
Designed to be hung on a Christmas tree, three Mini House Tins (54g/1.9oz) each contain two chocolates: a dark chocolate fondant flavour and a milk praline chocolate rocher, presented in a transparent gift box with holiday scenery. Travel retail recommended price is €12.

Four new preserves (220g/7.8oz) offer the fruity and sweet flavours of original recipes: blueberry, apricot and nougat, rhubarb and speculoos, and strawberry and rose. Travel retail recommended prices are €5.50 for the blueberry preserve and €4.90 for the desserts.
Mini hampers with window box
Four mini spirits bottles in a transparent gift box (4 x 5cl) contain four tiny bottles of Maxim’s spirit: Cognac, Armagnac, Calvados and Whisky. Travel retail recommended price is €19.90.
The Mini Hamper has a window box (20 x 20 x 7cm) with: a gold pencil-tin of eight assorted chocolate squares (40g); a white tin of white chocolate pearls with dark chocolate centre (50g); a black tin of dark chocolate pearls (50g); a red tin of milk chocolate pearls (50g); a mini house tin containing two chocolates (18g); and a mini house tin containing two chocolates (18g). Travel retail price is €39.
The Wine Hamper also features a window box (20 x 20 x 7cm) with: a bottle of white Bordeaux mellow wine (37.5cl); a bloc of duck foie gras (90g); a jar of fig chutney (50g); a country terrine with truffle juice (65g); a duck terrine with figs and Loupiac wine (65g); and a gourmet terrine with Espelette pepper (65g).
