MCM NEW YORK Collection
In homage to the metropolis of New York and to celebrate its launch at Saks Fifth Avenue stores, MCM has introduced a new and exclusive collection – MCM NEW YORK.
The distinctive collection, which is designed to embody sophisticated innovation, features fluid, graceful and supple silhouettes in butter-soft materials with elegant hardware.
MCM NEW YORK is targeted at the modern metropolitan customer and offers day bags and evening clutches in luxurious lambskin and goatskin. Each bag is crafted in Italy and features accents of modern pale gold hardware specially created for MCM NEW YORK.
“We are extremely impressed with MCM’s ability to create an exclusive collection for Saks Fifth Avenue, which possesses both impeccable quality and luxurious style,” said Cody Kondo, Group Senior Vice President and General Merchandise Manager of Fashion and Fine Jewellery, Watches, Women’s Shoes, Handbags and Soft Accessories. “We are thrilled to offer the MCM NEW YORK collection to our customer and look forward to its impending success during our launch this Fall.”
SPORTIVO, available in rich autumnal shades, is designed to exude both edginess and femininity, including shapes such as satchels, hobos and shoppers in supple nappa leather.
NOTTE comprises jewel-tone bags that drape over the shoulder in leather or snakeskin, aiming to capture the energy of New York City at night. With chain detail, a frame clutch rounds out the collection. The sparkling Blue hobo bag made of python leather from Italy is described as a must-have luxury item for the season.
GIORNO features pleating details and has an angular construction. Each piece is finished with the signature twist lock, translating from day to night with dual-length handles and playful clutches.
MCM NEW YORK is available from August 2009 exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue stores nationwide, saks.com, and MCM flagship boutiques worldwide, including the MCM Plaza boutique in New York City. Prices range from US$695 to US$1,195.
