GERMANY. German fashion brand MCM dressed a host of celebrities at the 2008 New Faces Award event, held in Düsseldorf on 26 July.
The major national award, presented by Europe’s biggest people magazine Bunte, is dedicated to scouting fresh fashion talent and promoting future stars.
Over 1,000 guests were invited to the glitzy award ceremony from the worlds of celebrity, media, business and politics, and many VIPs wore accessories from MCM’s Autumn/Winter 08 collection.
As Gold Partner sponsor, MCM also provided the hostesses with their outfits and the guests’ entrance bracelets. Everyone who voted for the new faces nominees took part in a prize draw in which a luxury MCM travel set was among the prizes.
Top TV personality Barbara Schöneberger hosted the evening, while supermodel Tasha de Vasconcelos presented the awards. Other VIP guests included top male model Marcus Schenkenberg.
The high-calibre jury, including Celia Gräfin von Bismarck, Michael Michalsky, Gabriele Strehle and KaDeWe Director Patrice Wagner, chose Munich-born Philipp Plein as the best new designer, just ahead of Marcel Ostertag and Stefan Eckert.
