The Armani Group has announced the opening of its first Giorgio Armani boutique in European travel retail at Milan Malpensa Airport.
Located in the new Extra Schengen zone at Terminal 1, the new boutique covers over 100sq m and offers women’s and men’s clothing and accessories, leather accessories, fragrances, eyewear and jewellery.
The interior of the store has been designed by Giorgio Armani and his team of architects. The floors are made of natural stone and feature custom-made Armani/Casa rugs, and the walls and matching ceiling are in textured marmorino.
The surrounding wall niches are in polished stainless steel and feature multi-layered mesh fabric and bamboo-motif glass over a luminous fabric underlay. Furnishings throughout the store are from the Armani/Casa collection, as are the fittings and fixtures in the fitting rooms.
The Giorgio Armani boutique is part of a new 8,000sq m luxury shopping mall, Piazza del Lusso, which has 2,000sq m of space dedicated to duty free. The new shopping area, the first phase of an ambitious €30 million renovation and expansion of T1, is reported to increase the total commercial offer in the departures area to 23,000sq m with around 100 restaurants, bars and shops.
