USA. The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) is set to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) including more than 45 food & beverage and retail spaces across Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Terminal 1.

This initiative aligns with the terminal’s first major redevelopment in almost ten years, with the airport serving as a hub for Delta Air Lines and ten other carriers.

MAC will offer a series of information sessions to guide local and small business owners through the RFP process and operational requirements at MSP.

MAC Vice President and Commercial Revenue Officer Isabella Rhawie said, “The MAC is proud of its strong partnerships with local entrepreneurs, and we’re committed to expanding opportunities for homegrown businesses to thrive at MSP, which serves more than 36 million travellers each year.

“This is a prime opportunity for Minnesota-based small and emerging businesses to broaden their reach within an award-winning concessions programme at one of the nation’s largest airports.”

The MSP concessions programme includes around 125 venues across two terminals, with Terminal 1 last redeveloped in 2017 to add 35 restaurants and stores.

Virtual informational sessions are scheduled for 25 March and 22 April, both from 2-3 pm (Central time).

Informational session topics:

  • Why airports offer unique and exciting business opportunities
  • How concessions spaces are allocated and how leases are structured
  • An overview of the MAC’s small business programme
  • Key milestones and timelines for the summer 2026 Terminal 1 concessions RFP

An in-person session will take place on 2 April, 1-3 pm (Central time) at the Metropolitan Airports Commission General Offices, 6040 S. 28th Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55450.

Interested business operators should register for the information sessions at metroairports.org/DoMSP.

Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is the 17th-busiest US airport by passenger traffic, with non-stop service to 167 destinations in 2026, including 35 international routes to Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.

The airport was ranked the highest among mega airports for customer and traveller satisfaction in 2025 and 2024 in the annual J.D. Power North America Airport Satisfaction Study, and has earned the top ranking in three of the past four years.
