M&M’s brand dominates MITR Asia line-up – 08/05/07

The M&M’s brand dominates the new pack range as the number one global confectionery brand continues to go from strength to strength, the firm said.

A focus on added value is also maintained with each exclusive pack offering a bonus gaming or leisure element to promote gifting.

MITR’s strategy continues to promote value for money, focusing on the quality, popularity and the strength of its top global brands, it added.

“MITR is recording outstanding sales across the world and despite an unstable picture in some regions we’ve seen dramatic growth across the board,” commented Stuart Bull, Global ITR Consultant to Mars Inc.

“The company reports that global business sales figures are nearly a third higher than last year. The market is buoyant, people are travelling freely and the picture is very positive for 2007,” he said.

On the most popular brands in Asia and new product development, Bull noted: “The top-selling brands across the Asia Pacific region this year were Celebrations and M&M’s, but the Dove brand has also proved very popular.

“While we’ve seen the gap and fulfilled the need for value packs in the sharing sector, we wanted to offer a more comprehensive range of gifts for children. This new 2007 range will meet this need as MITR intends to maintain its position as the clear leader in the gift market for children with our range of M&M’s packs,” he added.

CHARACTER GIFTS

M&M’s Choco Dispensers: A new range of collectible M&M’s red and yellow characters in fancy dress with two packs of 45g M&M’s Chocolate. The six characters to collect include a farmer, a witch, a chef and a pirate, all within the pocket money range. Standing at 10cm high, it is slightly larger than its predecessor, the M&M’s MINI’s Dispenser, one of MITR’s best-selling packs for several years.
M&M’s Sudoku Game contains a 125g pack of M&M’s PeanutM&M’s Beach Dispenser: A single boxed M&M’s yellow character lounging on a deckchair eating an ice-cream, with two packs of 45g M&M’s Chocolate. This replaces the Candy Dispenser.

Giant M&M’s: A novelty container shaped as a huge M&M, 13cm across contains a 125g of M&M’s Peanut confectionery. The pack can be collected in four colours.

M&M’s Sudoku Game: A pocket-sized electronic Sudoku game, alongside a pack of 125g M&M’s Peanut.

M&M’s Lifestyle Dispensers: A mid-sized dispenser with four characters to collect including a canoeist, a jet-skier, motorcyclist and roller-blader, with 125g of M&M’s Peanut.

M&M’s Alarm Clock: A smaller version of the children’s alarm clock at 20cm, ideal for bedtimes, with two packs of 45g M&M’s Peanut.
