FRANCE. Moët Hennessy Travel Retail has unveiled Voyage en Champagne, a celebratory activation in partnership with Louis Vuitton City Guide as a worldwide avant-première at Buy Paris Duty Free shops.
After an initial exclusivity with Buy Paris Duty Free – run by the Société de Distribution Aéroportuaire joint venture between Paris Aéroports and Lagardère Travel Retail – the concept will be rolled out to other flagship airports globally in 2021.
Until the end of the year, passengers travelling through Paris Charles de Gaulle and Orly airport are being invited on a virtual journey through Champagne. There they can discover the uniqueness and savoir-faire of this northeastern region of France and its world-famous product.
Champagne category leader Moët Hennessy is showcasing five of its brands – Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Ruinart, Dom Pérignon, and Krug – and partnering with it sister luxury house Louis Vuitton in the latter’s latest City Guide, exclusively dedicated to Reims and the Champagne region.
The Champagne region, located 45 minutes away from Paris, represents just 0.4% of worldwide vineyards. The Champagne Hillsides, Houses and Cellars were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015. The region, which mixes tradition and modernity, is in normal years a hugely popular tourist destination.
Through the Voyage en Champagne at Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports, travellers are invited to discover the secrets and anecdotes of the five Champagne Maisons. They can discover, for example, that black Pinot Noir grapes are the heart of Veuve Clicquot; that Moët & Chandon has the most extensive estate in the Champagne region; and much more.
