Monus grows Fast in the Greek cigarette market

Monus Tobacco Company’s top-selling brand Fast has been listed by Hellenic Duty Free Shops

SERBIA. Serbian-based Monus Tobacco Company has announced the debut its top-selling brand Fast at Hellenic Duty Free Shops in Greece.

Fast has become the company’s most famous and most popular brand in the region. Launched in 2001, demand for the brand has grown rapidly, thanks to its distinctive flavour and affordable price, Monus said.

Fast is also one of the best-selling cigarettes in Serbia’s local market.

The company’s long-term strategy is to attract and maintain tobacco consumers in this region by offering value for money.

In addition, the product offers creative and distinctive packaging, which increases its brand strength in the market, Monus added.

State-of-the-art manufacturing plant

At the core of the Monus Tobacco Company’s business is a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant, constructed in 2005 at a cost of €60 million (US$73.6 million).

The company calls it the most modern cigarette-producing facility in Europe, noting that the plant is able to produce 10,000 sticks per minute.

With six manufacturing lines and the capacity to pack 4,000kg per hour, Monus exports 150 tons of cigarettes per month while selling an additional 300 tons domestically.

The conditioning, blending, cutting, drying, flavouring, filter-making and packing processes are all performed by automated machines, and research is also carried out in Monus’ laboratory to ensure the highest-quality product possible.

In addition to Fast, Monus Tobacco Company produces cigarette brands such as De Santis and Monus Slims.
